In addition to course work, CCBC provides numerous on-going opportunities to work with Calvary churches in the area to gain practical ministry experience. Preparation includes verse-by-verse study through the Bible and practical how-to courses in the areas of ministry listed below:
Biblical Counseling
Pastoral Ministry
Women's Ministry
Children's Ministry
Missions
Apologetics/Evangelism
Some additional common areas of ministry which have developed over the years are: prison ministry, hospital ministry, feeding the homeless, crisis pregnancy counseling, children's Christian education, Youth Development International (a youth crisis hotline), street witnessing, and crusade planning and counseling. The opportunities change each semester. Our desire is to represent Christ to every person we meet. These ministries provide many opportunities to share the love of Jesus in practical, helpful ways.
Practical Christian Service
Every full-time student at CCBC enrolls in a course called M199, Practical Christian Ministry. By meeting the needs of fellow students, staff, and retreat guests, students demonstrate practical servanthood. This course requires 8 hours of a student's times per week. Occasionally we are able to place students in areas in which they have previous experience.
Coffee House
The Overflowing Cup is located on the campus and is a ministry of CCBC. It is open 7 days a week serving students, staff and the local community. Various bands and talent acts often perform there as a part of an outreach.
Campus Church
All students are asked to attend a church within commuting distance. There are many Calvary Chapels in the area, in addition to the on-campus church, Calvary Chapel Hot Springs with Pastor David Shirley.
