Students usually take two calendar years to complete the four semester, 80-credit program. CCBC offers Courses of Study in the following areas: Biblical Counseling, Pastoral Ministry, Women's Ministry, Missions, Apologetics & Evangelism, Christian Education/Children's Ministry, and Radio Ministry. Courses are offered in several divisions. Each division is indicated by an abbreviation preceding the course number.

The abbreviations for the course divisions and course emphasis are as follows:

BIBLICAL COUNSELING
BC301  Introduction to Biblical Counseling ...........................2 Credits  

This course will equip those who desire to be used by the Lord in counseling. Emphasis will be on the Biblical basis for counseling as well as the principles put forth by God's word in order to counsel effectively. Students will also learn to discern the difference between 'worldly' and Biblical counseling methods and theories.

BC319  Biblical Change.......................................................2 Credits

The main objective of this course will be to lead students to understand the resources given by God's grace and the Holy Spirit to live a victorious Christian life.  A thorough examination of the book of Romans Chapters 5-8, and various other Scripture passages will be studied such as Galatians, Numbers, Judges, to see the victory that is in Jesus Christ

CHRISTIAN LIFE AND DISCIPLESHIP
CL101  Morning Chapel/ Devotions............................................................. 1 Credit

In addition to personal devotions, the entire student body meets daily throughout the week for corporate devotions. This time allows each student the voluntary opportunity to minister the Word to his or her peers.

CL105  Community Worship.................................................................. 0.5 Credit

Each Sunday night throughout the semester, the student body gathers together for a time of worship, teaching, and communion.

CL301  Christian Living............................................................................ 2 Credits

This course is a broad overview of the various aspects of how a Christian ought to live. Topics covered will be prayer and fasting, growing in grace, marriage and relationships, worship and other issues related to the daily walk of Christians.

CL325  Practical Christian Wisdom ........................................ 2 Credits  

This course will focus on the practical application of the wisdom expressed in the book of Proverbs as well as other areas in Scripture.

CHRISTIAN MINISTRY
CM111  Community Service.......................................................................2 Credits 

This course is a 'hands on' servant hood class that puts students out into the community to serve in practical ways and share the love of Jesus, not only in word, but in deed. Possible areas of service include environmental cleanup, aid to senior citizens, outreach to juvenile halls, and working with orphans. This is required for 3rd and 4th semester students.

CM199  Practical Christian Ministry .............................................. 2 Credits This course is required for all on campus students. Students will provide support to many areas of both the Bible College and Conference Center. Opportunities for service include: kitchen, library, audio-visual, housekeeping, maintenance, landscaping, security and many others. See page 50 for more details.

CM209  Drama.............................................................................................. 2 Credits
This course will train students how to use drama as another form of communicating the Gospel. Several skits will be learned throughout the semester and used to both reach out and edify the body.

CM331  Children’s Ministry........................................................................... 2 Credits
This course covers major aspects of Children's Ministry to equip those who are called to this area of ministry. The goal of this course is to is to learn how to accurately communicate and represent the Word of God and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

This course is designed as an overview of the major events, movements, doctrines, and personages associated with the development of the Christian church.

LANGUAGE ARTS

LA357  Simplified Greek........................................................................... 2 Credits

This course is designed to equip the student to use the language tools available for properly translating and interpreting the Greek New Testament. Emphasis will be on the basics of grammar and syntax.

LA306  Greek II...................................................................... 2 Credits Using lexical tools, students will work their way through the book of Colossians, translating from the original Greek text. This class is designed for those with a basic knowledge of Greek grammar, syntax, and translation materials.

MISSIOLOGY
MI301 Theology of Missions .................................................................... 2 Credits
 

This course is an investigation of the biblical and theological basis for world missions as seen in both the Old and New Testament. Emphasis is on the nature and purpose of God, the operation of the trinity, and the mission of Israel and the Church to the nations of the world.

NEW TESTAMENT
NT301  New Testament Survey I.............................................................. 3 Credits

This course is a verse-by-verse study of the New Testament books of Matthew through Acts. It is an audio class in MP3 (CDs) format taught by Chuck Smith. This class is taken 3rd semester.

NT302  New Testament Survey II............................................................ 3 Credits

This course is a verse-by-verse study of the New Testament books of Romans through Revelation. It is an audio class in MP3 format taught by Chuck Smith. This class is taken 4th Semester.

NT351  Gospel of Matthew........................................................................ 3 Credits

This course will be a verse-by-verse study through the entire Gospel of Matthew. Emphasis will be on the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and His claim to be the Messiah.

NT354  Gospel of John.............................................................................. 3 Credits

This course will be a verse-by-verse study through the Gospel of John. Students will study John's theology, Christology, and the relationship of Jesus' deity and humanity.

NT355  Acts .............................................................................................. 3 Credits 

Students will study verse-by-verse through the book of Acts, examining the biblical model for both the church and missions. Emphasis will be on the early church, how it began, the struggles it had, and how this applies to us today.

NT356  Romans.......................................................................................... 3 Credits

This course will be a verse-by-verse study through the book of Romans. Considered to be the most systematic study of doctrine found in the Bible, this class will give students an understanding of the foundations of Christian theology.

NT357  I Corinthians................................................................................ 3 Credits 

This course is a verse-by-verse study through the book of 1 Corinthians. Special emphasis will be on the problems Paul addressed to the church in Corinth, and how these same problems still exist in the church today.

NT360  Ephesians...................................................................................... 3 Credits

This course will be a verse-by-verse study through the New Testament book of Ephesians. The objective of this class is to give the student a working knowledge of the book of Ephesians as well as studying the major doctrines presented in the epistle.

NT361  Philippians..................................................................................... 2 Credits 

This course will be a verse-by-verse study through the book of Philippians. Students will develop a complete outline of the book as well as presenting a message from the book to the class.

NT369  Hebrews........................................................................................ 3 Credits 

This course will be a verse-by-verse study through the book of Hebrews. The emphasis of this course will be on comparing the Old Covenant and the New Covenant. Students will be brought into a deeper understanding of the relationship that is available with God through Jesus Christ as our Mediator.

NT370  James........................................................................ 2 Credits This course will be a comprehensive study of the book of James. The focus of the course will be on the personal application of the truths in regards to prayer, time spent in the word, pride, how to speak, and how to treat one another.

NT377  Revelation............................................................... 3 Credits 

This course will be a verse-by-verse study through the book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ. The course will be studied from a pre-millennial, pre-tribulational point of view. Emphasis will be on the sequence of prophetic events and the consummation of this age.

NT391  I, II, III John ................................................................................ 2 Credits

This is a verse-by-verse study of the Epistles of I, II, and III John. This class will look at the magnificent character of God and His model for fellowship among believers.

NT399  I & II Peter .................................................................................. 2 Credits

This course will be a verse-by-verse study through the two Epistles of Peter. Students will study the historical context of the books, gain a working knowledge of both of the epistles and understand how they apply to us today.

NT409  Pastoral Epistles ......................................................................... 3 Credits

This course will be a verse-by-verse study through I Timothy, II Timothy and Titus. Students will gain insight into biblical characteristics of pastors and church leaders and how the church should operate.

OLD TESTAMENT
OT301  Old Testament Survey I ............................................................... 3 Credits
This course is a verse-by-verse study of Genesis through Job. It is an audio class in MP3 format taught by Chuck Smith. This class is taken 1st Semester.

OT302  Old Testament Survey II ............................................................. 3 Credits 

This course is a 2nd Semester verse-by-verse study of Psalms through Malachi. It is an audio class in MP3 format taught by Chuck Smith.

OT333  Jeremiah....................................................................................... 2 Credits 

This course is a verse-by-verse study through the book of Jeremiah. Emphasis will be on the historical setting of the book and it affects the nation when they do not follow the Lord. Application will focus on the current spiritual state of today and how it relates to Jeremiah.

OT359 Minor Prophets............................................................................... 2 Credits

This course is a verse-by-verse study through the twelve books of the Old Testament known as the minor prophets, Hosea through Malachi. Emphasis will be given to the historical setting of each author and the message conveyed in his writing, particularly the eschatological and Christological aspects of that message.

OT361  Ruth & Esther................................................................................ 2 Credits

This course is a verse-by-verse study through the books of Ruth and Esther. This class, for women only, will be an in depth study of these two books, with special emphasis on how they serve as excellent examples to the women of the 21st century.

OT310 Genesis............................................................................................ 3 Credits
This course is a verse-by-verse study through the book of Genesis. Special consideration will be given to the fundamental principals in the book, including creation of the universe, introduction of sin and the formation of Israel.

OT328  Psalms............................................................................................. 2 Credits
This course is a verse-by-verse study through the book of Psalms. The objective is to show the students the beauty of the Hebrew poetry displayed in the psalms, and seeing the different types of psalms in the Bible.

OT368  Christ in Prophecy ....................................................................... 3 Credits

This course is a verse-by-verse study through the book of Isaiah. Emphasis will be on the Christological content of the book and also the historical context in which it was written.

OT336 Daniel.............................................................................................. 2 Credits
This course is a verse-by-verse study through the book of Daniel. Students will explore the historical context, the prophesies that have been fulfilled, as well as those yet to be fulfilled. Consideration will also be given to the life of Daniel and his example for all believers.

PREACHING & TEACHING
PT309  Preaching Practicum..................................................... 2 Credits
This class will focus on the delivery and critique of sermons and speeches in the areas of persuasion, evangelism, and theology. Students will be required to present several sermons throughout the semester.

THEOLOGY & APOLOGETICS
TH101  Lectures in Ministry....................................................... 1 Credit

A series of lecture given on a weekly basis by Pastor Chuck Smith and other various speakers who share wisdom and insight into the work of the ministry.

TH311  History of Redemption.................................................................... 2 Credits
The two main objectives of this course are to 1) see the unity of the Bible as it presents God's plan of salvation throughout and 2) review the general content of the books of the Bible, looking at their integration and themes.

TH353  Creationism..................................................................................... 2 Credits
Students will be shown the validity of the biblical view of creation. Including topics such as the six literal days of creation, the world wide flood, and methods of creation evangelism.

TH365  Apologetic Evangelism.................................................................... 2 Credits 

Those who desire to reach the lost and answer their questions about the Bible and Christianity will benefit from this course. Topics included will be the existence of God, historical evidence for Christianity, and the reliability of the Scriptures.

TH387  Cults & World Religions.................................................................. 2 Credits 

An overview of the major cults and religions of this age. Emphasis will be on how to respond to these different groups and how to guide them to the truth of Christ.

TH401 Hermeneutics.................................................................................. 2 Credits

The goal of this course will be to teach the student how to effectively study the Bible. Emphasis will be on the various tools used to properly understand and interpret and apply the text.

WORSHIP
WO207  Worship Practicum......................................................................... 2 Credits
This course will be for students who desire to be a part of a worship team and lead worship for classes here on campus. Students will learn the dynamics of structuring a worship band and how to play together as a team.

WO319  Song Writing................................................................................... 2 Credits 

Students will be given opportunity to learn the basics of writing worship songs that are biblically based. Opportunity will be given to play songs in class and be critiqued.
